Privacy Policy¶
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Thank you for using Flow Equalizer ("the App"), developed by Androxus ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your information.
The App works fully on your device. A few optional features — Google Drive backup and profile sharing — involve sending data off your device only when you choose to use them, and are explained in their own sections below.
Data We Collect¶
Data Stored Locally on Your Device¶
The following data is created and stored on your device. We do not have access to it, and it is never sent to Androxus servers:
- Audio Settings — Equalizer bands, bass boost, virtualizer, volume booster, limiter, and channel balance preferences
- Custom Presets — Any presets you create or modify
- Device Profiles — Audio profiles linked to specific Bluetooth or wired audio devices
- Listening History — Song title, artist, album name, album art, duration, and which music player was used. This data powers the Listening Stats feature and stays on your device.
- Liked Songs — Songs you mark as liked within the app
- App Preferences — Theme, language, notification settings, and other app configuration
If you enable Google Drive Backup (see below), a copy of this data is saved to your own private Google Drive folder. If you use Profile Sharing (see below), only the audio settings of the profile you choose to share are uploaded.
Google Drive Backup & Restore¶
Flow Equalizer offers an optional backup feature so you can move your settings to a new device or recover them after reinstalling. This feature is off until you turn it on.
- What is backed up — A single snapshot containing your custom presets, equalizer and effect preferences, saved Bluetooth/wired device profiles, auto-apply rules, listening history, and liked songs.
- Where it is stored — In your own private Google Drive app data folder, using Google's restricted
drive.appdatascope. This is a hidden, app-specific area of your Google account. The backup is not sent to or stored on Androxus servers. - Our access — We cannot read the contents of your Google Drive or any other files in it. The
drive.appdatascope only lets the App read and write its own backup file. - Account access — When you set up backup, Android asks you to choose a Google account and grant permission. You can revoke this access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Auto-backup — If enabled, the App periodically backs up in the background (only while charging and connected to a network). You can set the cadence to Off, Daily, or Weekly.
- Deleting your backup — You can disable backup in the App's settings, switch accounts, or delete the backup file from your Google Drive. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete an existing Drive backup.
You can also export and import this same snapshot to a local file on your device, which never leaves your device unless you share that file yourself.
Profile Sharing¶
Flow Equalizer lets you optionally share an equalizer profile with others via a link (for example, eq.androxus.com/s/...). This only happens when you explicitly choose to share a profile.
- What is uploaded — Only the audio configuration of the profile you share: equalizer band values, effect settings (such as bass boost and virtualizer), and a profile label. This is uploaded to our backend (
api.eq.androxus.com). - What is not uploaded — No account details, no listening history, no liked songs, and no personal information are attached to a shared profile.
- Public links — Anyone with the link can open the shared profile. Do not include personal or sensitive information in profile labels.
- Deletion — If you would like a shared profile removed, contact us at [email protected].

| Foreground Service | Keeps audio effects active while the app is in the background |
| Notification Permission | Shows equalizer status in the notification bar |
| Boot Completed | Optionally restarts the equalizer service after device reboot |
| Notification Listener | Detects which music player is active to automatically connect the equalizer |
| Google Account (Drive) | Optional — only when you enable backup, to save and restore your settings in your own private Google Drive app folder |
